The Revelation of Al-Qur’an

If you are following my blog, you would be familiar with a number of series such as The Tragedy of My Life, Rhythm of My Heart, Wandering Wonders, Creating Success, Extreme Challenges and others…Now, there is a new series starting officially from now, and it will be given the title “The Book of My Guidance”… In this day, more than 1430 years ago, one of the greatest miracles of the creator, the holy Qurán was revealed. Therefore, I believe that this is the suitable time to start this new series of posts in my blog. These series of posts will be basically about The Holy Qur’an, my journey with the Holy Qur’an and how it did change my life, and also how it changes the lives of people around me. It discusses as well the miracles of the Holy Qur’an, its status, and even lessons from the holy Qur’an. However, today will be only an introduction :) Some critics might say that this is not the first post regarding this topic. There was a post under the title “My Journey with The Holy Qur’an”

Wavin' Flag

I finally found my rivals!

Since my first year in the university, I felt always kinda excluded in my classes. That’s because, I am the only one who always participating in and interact with the lecturer. And it’s sorta not nice feeling when everyone looks at you in a different way. However, I was able to surpass this feeling. There are some funny occasions though, one of them when my friend asked me how did I do in the quiz. And when I was about to answer she blurted “Eh, why I am asking you? Of course, you’ll get full marks.” Another story happened in one of my math classes when I wanted to participate, then the lecturer said “Bro, no need to participate...You exceeded the limit of extra marks!!!”...  Anyway, that was only the introduction, what I want to mention here, as the title suggests, is that I am not the only proactive one in my classes anymore. It started from previous semester. I had a Sudanese classmate in one of my classes and she was at my level. Also, in another class, there were those two brothe

Let's Go for a Whim

This is something I read the other day, something that I found so critical to the extent that I thought the writer was talking directly to me. Anyway, enough with the formalities, here it goes: How often do you follow up on an urge to do something creative or enjoyable? Do you ever get a creative idea for your home or at work but feel afraid to act on it becuase someone might be critical of you and your idea? If so, it's time to say, "Who cares what they think?" If you feel the urge to do something, do it.  Why restrict yourself to serious thoughts and activities? Let the child in you indulge its whims and moods, Do things that in your viewpoint improve the world or that just give you a moment of joy. What may seem like work to others can be time joyfully spend by you. When a child gets involved in a fun activity that you don't feel educational or meaningful, as long as it's not harmful, let her be. Or better yet, join her and learn what it feels like to just i

A Debate Within

Ramadan is here, and my heart is still beating...Alhamdulillah. I was not sure that I would post this. No, I’d rather say I was not sure that I’ll be here to post this. Today is the first day of the holy Month of Ramadan...Yet, today might be the last day in my life... So last night I felt extremely happy when I went to the Masjid Sultan Ahmad Shah. I saw so many people there in the Masjid for Tarawih Prayer. I felt relieved and happy to know that there are still some alive hearts in this Ummah. But then again, why this is happening? Why suddenly those people decided to come to pray in the Masjid? Sometimes in normal days, barely the first row is filled by people but last night the whole ground floor was filled. Of course, everyone knows the answer, it is Ramadan. However, I argue back, why then only in Ramadan? Allah is our Lord every day, every month, and every year. Then why only in Ramadan we read the Qur’an for hours, but when Ramadan is gone...We put the Qur’an back in our loc

I love you mommy

Hi, Mommy. I'm your baby. You don't know me yet, I'm only a few weeks old. You're going to find out about me soon, though, I promise. Let me tell you some things about me. My name is John, and I've got beautiful brown eyes and black hair. Well, I don't have it yet, but I will when I'm born. I'm going to be your only child, and you'll call me your one and only. I'm going to grow up without a daddy mostly, but we have each other. We'll help each other, and love each other. I want to be a doctor when I grow up. You found out about me today, Mommy! You were so excited, you couldn't wait to tell everyone. All you could do all day was smile, and life was perfect. You have a beautiful smile, Mommy. It will be the first face I will see in my life, and it will be the best thing I see in my life. I know it already. Today was the day you told Daddy. You were so excited to tell him about me! ...He wasn't happy, Mommy. He kind of got angry. I do

Karateka Ukhwah Day

I like the title, because it is a single sentence that combines words from three different languages. Karateka is a Japanese term which means a person who learns karate. In Arabic, the word Ukhwah means brotherhood. And the word day means the interval of light between two successive nights or the time between sunrise and sunset (dictionary.com). I won’t bore you with the details, so I'll share with you the activities that we had briefly. We started in the morning, with breakfast made by sempai-din. After that, we had a community services cleaning the Masjid, however I skipped that because I was setting up the venue with sempai-kay for the next activity…and then had fun watching the movie (VIP MAN). After that, we learned a new kata that we are not supposed to learn yet. And last but not least, we had the BARBEQUE! (wow! I’ve managed to sum up the activities of a whole day in couples of lines only! My summary skills are improving hehe) I had a lot of fun today and met some people
