Double Degree

Four years ago, I wanted to apply for a double degree in my university. However, I was a little frustrated that engineering students cannot take a double degree. Never the less, I decided to take extra ten subjecting in Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence Studies) as a minor degree, as a result, extending one year in my undergraduate life. I didn't regret this decision, as I really wanted to study Islamic studies since I was young. Also, because I believe that a  Guardian should have some Islamic knowledge at least more than a normal person. However, I've never expected, at that time, that extending my study one year would give me the opportunity to obtain another degree...and fulfilling my target of getting a double degree! What is this second degree? It is a degree of the Martial Art of Karate-do in Shito-Ryu style. I've started my karate-do life on my third year and finished after three years. New Year Resolutions?

Another year has passed. A lot has happened. Everyone had happy and sad moments. Let’s hope that next year will be a better one! But wait, why do we only put a target that next ‘year’ our life will be happier. Why wouldn't a person say: “Starting from tomorrow, I will start eat healthy food”…Setting a target to be achieved yearly is logical when you have big goals yet it has some loopholes…and the biggest one is the sin of procrastination! Say, my New Year resolution is to improve finances and get out of debt. Why would I need to wait until the end of the year to think of this target? And assume that surprisingly the target have been achieved in the third month of the year, why would I need to wait until the end of the year to set another goal? Indeed, some targets need some time to be achieved. But when you put one year duration for that target, procrastination will be there.
