Movie Marathon

Image
I'm not a big fan of watching movies. But actually I like them, the good ones. Because, they have amazing story lines, from which you can learn a lot of lessons and cool characters that you would never forget. However, as much as love movies, I just don't have enough time to watch. So, for a person like me, watching four movies in a row is considered something… So, what were those four movies? I had a big collection from which I had to chose and I was afraid that I might chose the wrong one. However, Alhamdulillah, all the movies I watched were worth watching. Kung Fu Panda 2 X-Men Origins: Wolverine Bedtime Stories 12 Rounds Anyway, to get this kind of opportunity for me, I had to pay the price. You think it would be crazy to pay around 300 USD just to watch 4 movies in a row. But before judging, you have to know what else I get beside watching the movies. First, two nice and fancy meals. Two: the ability to stop, forward or rewind as I wish. And lastly, transportati

In Saudi Arabia

Image
Recently, Alhamdullilah I had a nice dinner with one of my friends. May Allah bless him for treating us. During the dinner, someone asked: Why do you live in Saudi Arabia? If the situation in my country was good l wouldn’t be living in Saudi? For some people, there are living there because they have no choice, like my friend who asked the question. And if the choice was in their hand, they would not stay there. Why? Because who wants to live in slavery anyway. Yes, I said slavery. It is not slavery as it is commonly known. It is more like systematic modern slavery. The system is designed so that locals become more or less like lords and internationals become their slaves. Maybe here I used the term international to refer to the non-local. However, there, if you are a non-local then you are a foreigner. Again, let’s go back to my friend. Since the situation in his country is very bad, he cannot go back there. He and his family have no choice but to live in Saudi Arabia. Since he is a

IIUM Selangor Shitoryo Championship

It’s been more than two months for this event. Thus, I won’t share what happened in the event. I’d rather talk about the outcome of this event. Improvement of IIUM Karatedo Mustangs. Of course, as the team won the overall champion award for that event. Thanks to all my team for their performance. As a reward from our coach, we will arrange a trip to Indonesia in this coming March. Moreover, as a reward from the sports center, they will fully sponsor the IIUM karatedo Mustangs to journey to “the land where karate was originated”. Development of IIUM Karatedo Club This event was the first Interdojo Championship held by a university ever. And IIUM takes the proud to be that university. And as the program manager, I would like to thank all of my committees for the work. Nothing much can be done without working committees.  Alhamdulillah, even thought there were shortcoming, the event was a success and it was ‘the best interdojo ever’ as said by our sensei. Moreover, the sports center was

Senpai vs Sensei

Two years ago in December, I went to Malaysia Shito-Ryu Inter-Dojo Championship in Penang. After we reach there, I saw the charts. In order to win in my pull, I had to challenge sensei Zad datu. And If I won, I would be playing in the finals. In the first day, before the actual match starts. I saw sensei Zad Datu doing Seipai Kata and it was amazing. Seeing him doing the kata almost-perfectly, made me feel like I want to challenge him. However, I’ve lost in the qualifying rounds and didn’t get the chance to meet him. However, I kept in mind: One day I’m gonna fight him and defeat him! Last year, in September to be specific, I participated in East Malaysia Zone Shitoryu Karate-do Championship that was held in Sarawak. And you know something; I actually had the chance to challenge that sensei. I met him in the semi-finals as I’ve imagined myself last year in Penang. It’s like my dream came true. However, only half of the dream came true as I was defeated by him (3-2). This defeat was
