Setting Goals

There was a young man who graduated from college and decided to seek employment. He hoped to find a job somewhere away from his home town. He walked into the local bus station, approached the ticket counter and asked the clerk for a bus ticket. What do you suppose the ticket clerk asked the young man? He said, "Where do you want to go?" The young man said, "I don't know. Just give me a ticket to somewhere." He didn't get a ticket! The moral of the story is that if you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there. If we don't specify exactly what we want, we have no reason to complain about what we get or where we find ourselves. Goals symbolize expectations, hopes and dreams. And to the extent our goals are achieved, we are successful. By setting and achieving worthwhile goals, you can give your life greater meaning and purpose. You will also find your work and personal life more exciting and fulfilling. And what I personally learn

Skipping Classes

Skipping classes is not good. First of all, you miss the lecture. Second, you don't get the updates of the course (assignments, presentations, or due-dates). Thirdly and most importantly, your admirer will miss you and start to get worry about you! :P Anyway, this semester I missed a lot of classes already. However, I don't miss classes because I feel like not attending. I don't miss classes because I have something to do. I was absent from my classes this semester only because I am not feeling well, sick, or very dizzy. By the way, today was my first time missing my lab this semester! Sigh...I really need to find a solution to my disease... However, skipping classes is not the end of the world. Last semester, I skipped ALL my lab classes, except for one. However, I got an A in that course! and it was my first time getting an A in a lab course! I am not saying that you have to skip the classes to get an A! I am saying that even if you misses some classes, that does not

An Apology

Image
This apology is dedicated to two of my best friends, X and Y. Few days ago, I wanted to send a private message on facebook to X. So, I just wrote the message and send it to X. But unfortunately, I was using Y’s account because Y was using facebook on my computer and forgot to log out. I didn’t notice that and I thought I was using my own facebook account. I realized that but it was too late. I went to ‘sent messages’ and delete it from Y’s account. Then I resent the message again to X using my own account. So, I already deleted the ‘sent message’ from Y’s account. But still, Y will know about the message if X reply to it. So I was planning to meet X in the class and apologize directly and tell X not to reply to my message that was sent by mistake. But X didn’t come to the class that day. After the class, I logged in to meebo (a chatting website). I was relieved when I saw that X was online. I wanted to apologize and tell X about the message that I sent by mistake and that X should n

A Nice Weekend

Hrmmm, where to start? Ok, let's start from Friday. In the morning, my dear room mate and alarm-friend woke me up for my class. Then I went all the way to KOE to find out that the class was cancelled! Frustrating eh? Then I printed some documents (actually, only one paper) for my friend who went back to Singapore and submitted to his lecturer's room in ECONS. So I had a really nice stroll that morning. After Juma'at, I was hoping to get a free miswak but instead I got a free copy of the mus'haf. Then, went to KOE again helping my senior-friend in her FYP. Last but not least, KARATE at night! Mostly we focused on the demonstration the following day. Saturday starts with karate. First time leading a class as an assistance instructor. It was nice experience, the part the I like most is that I can test my voice projection and hear the echo of my own voice hehehe. I think my voice alone was higher than the voices of all the students combined together. After the class, kara

Just follow your heart

Image
We usually hear this a lot. But sometimes, when your heart tells you something, but you cannot do it, because of external factors, then what should you do? The answer of this question is very dependent of the situation. In this post, I will share one situation that happens a lot. So what should you study in your higher education? This decision is made by the students themselves or by the parents. When I chose my field of higher education, I fully followed my heart. I didn't care much about job market and money or whatsoever. I just chose what I like. And thankfully, I managed to convince my parents who wanted me to study medicine. So, if you follow your heart and chose what you like. Then, you will enjoy studying in the university, and later on if you get a job, you will enjoy it. And since that you like what you study, then it will be easier for you to score high marks. Moreover, if you are studying something that you like, it will be simpler for you to link it with ikhlas (pu

Young at Heart

Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you If you’re young at heart For it’s hard, you will find, to be narrow of  mind If you’re young at heart You can go to extremes with impossible schemes You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the  seams And life gets more exciting with each passing  day And love is either in your heart or on it’s way Don’t you know that it’s worth every treasure on  earth To be young at heart For as rich as you are it’s much better by far To be young at heart And if you should survive to a hundred and five Look at all you’ll derive out of being alive And here is the best part,  you have a head start If you are among the very young at heart

Proximity to Lecturer

Image
Usually, I don't like to reblog and repost what I read in others' blog. Although I say that I do like to reuse and recycle because it's better for the environment, it is just a lame excuse when I copy my friend's ideas. Just to add some humor... Speaking of humor. I set in the first row, most of the times, but for your information, I am not a teacher's pet!  So, this picture remind me so much of my friends, so lemme point them out: First row: Muktar Second-row sleepers: Abdull Against the wall: Rahmaan Mid-center: ME Nearest exit: Zoer Back row: Rajin

Awaken

This song symbolizes the truth about Muslims nowadays. It tells us to focus on making the world better, be it for Muslims or for all humanity. It focuses on not blaming non-believers for all the trouble and problems in the world. These troubles and problems are tests from Allah. Open your eyes and take a look around you. Allah teaches us to have mercy on each other. That means EVERYONE. Don't blame others for the wrong you do. Take a look inside yourselves first.

New Life Resolution

Image
Every January, people all over the world sit down with pen and paper at hand to write their New Year’s Resolutions for the upcoming year. This is a ritual that goes into every one of our lives. The ritual called New Year Resolution. We imagine ourselves to be a super human by Jan 1st. Goals are perfectly made and life is just perfect. By January 15th, things begin to change. Most of the resolutions that we said we would maintain is no longer done. Now, there is something that we look forward to. Another Dec 31 and another new year, so that we work again on our New Year resolution. This is a rat race that happens to each of our lives. Instead of creating New Year Resolution, create a Life Resolution. A life resolution is something you will commit to work on, no matter what the date is on the calendar. This is a round the year resolution. It can start any time. You are committed for the entire life time of yours, and thus even if you slip in the middle, you just start over the very ne
